Zip : Oh shit, Zum you know that Red Coat thing you had in the ACS Days ... Do you know where I could get some thing like that?

ZIM ZUM : I have that red coat still. funny story behind that. a girl liked a shirt I had on and I liked the jacket she had so I traded -funny part is I hated the shirt and LOVED the jacket. it\'s like a cheap sheep shag rug. that was rare even for me. a chance meeting and neither of us liked what we had so we swaped. I was walking to the bus at the time and the girl asked and I asked for her jacket and it was done that quick.

Zip : Hmm I\'m going to find a coat like that... I guess I could make it...

ZIM ZUM : you can find the material at any fabric store and just make it short from shoulders to waist and wide from shoulder to shoulder.

ultra0fag7 : hey zim, what is up with UFE these days?

ZIM ZUM : I think Ultra Fag Entertainment will be a production company behind most of the things I do.

phoenix5807 : so would I be correct in assuming that anything that you do auction someday would go through the guy @ the manson museum?

ZIM ZUM : NO manson museum for me.

phoenix5807 : wow, I thought you had some personal history w/the guy. Just don\'t care to keep that association?

ZIM ZUM : I never had any association with any manson museum. I\'m not even sure what it is.

ultra0fag7 : id love a Ultra Fag Tee... speaking of are there any mediums or large pleistoscene shirts left?

ZIM ZUM : there are VERY FEW shirts left. Alot of t\'s went out last week.

Question missing...(sorry...)

ZIM ZUM : I have about 6 of them. they are all signature guitars in that they made them how I wanted and inlayed my signature in the neck and the shock symbols on the fretboard.

ultra0fag7 : any chance youd sell one?

ZIM ZUM : I did sell one but it was privately to a friend. It was pretty beat.

Zip : What color ? or was it sanded down?

ZIM ZUM : It was black with a black pick guard. I had broken 3 bolts off in the back that hold the neck on.

phoenix5807 : have you ever thought about putting a webcam in 25/8?

ZIM ZUM : webcam..i\'m not sure. It\'s just me most of the time. I didnt think anyone would be interested in seeing me plug one thing in, play it-then plug another in record it, then on and on and on and on... I figured some people might be interested in HEARING what was going on though. I have always-always-always- wanted to stream live video from the site. Live as in Pleistoscene playing live. basically because the fan base and audience is extremely spread out.

Zip : Oh ... Did you go to College Zum? If you don\'t mind me asking..

ZIM ZUM : I did not.

rawkdawg666 : Zim, any new music on the horizon?

ZIM ZUM : yes. lots and lots of new music. I have been locked away with about 13 new songs and I have also been tracking on the older ones too. There are a little more than 40(?) songs now in addition to the 2 that were released. The only problem and I guess it\'s not really a problem is that I tend to move forward quickly with music so unless I put out an EP every other month- I have a hard time with putting out older stuff because I want it to reflect the most recent moments...

phoenix5807 : I understand. So what is the solution? Release older stuff as mp3s, or re-work them?

phoenix5807 : (by the way - nobod would complain at a bimonthly EP)

ZIM ZUM : but the every other month EP thing isnt such a bad idea. It\'s just hard to get productions in small runs like that. I have halted any reworking because I really came to a place where I like the songs as they are and I try to tell myself they are \'done\' in the form they are in. So I just have to put them in a timeline on the album/EP so that conceptually it will make sense...something along the lines of .. 1,213 days in the life of Pleistoscene

phoenix5807 : sweet idea. I like the concept a lot

ZIM ZUM : it\'s much closer to an orchestra feel. it\'s about the music.

phoenix5807 : may I ask how many are in the lineup, or do I have to wait?

ZIM ZUM : I wont be even toying with answering that question because it always bites me in the ass..lol...I\'m happy with the people that are playing the live stuff as of right now, as in right now...lol. there is a band but it changes as there are multiple candidates -back-ups. Ive had a couple of the guys around for a while now though. The only thing that matters is the ones that make it to the live show. Because that is truly destiny. I like the level of musicianship and they have all been around the block and know what it\'s all about on different levels. the main changes are always based around the fact that i want to play live and I want it to be more than perfect or at least a unique experience that doesnt come off less than what it is capable of.

phoenix5807 : is it possible for man to ever perform at full capacity?

ZIM ZUM : The musicianship is key because it brings the timeframe closer if there are fewer rehearsals, ya know? yes. fewer rehearsals means quicker getting to shows and the ability to change the set list from night to night. I take it for granted that those around me can move at a breakneck pace- but reality comes crashing in every now and then and I have to re-evaluate what i was looking for in that particluar position.

ultra0fag7 : so what are you up to tonight zim?

ZIM ZUM : I am dropping in to a favorite little club later.

phoenix5807 : so do you feel that you are at that place (of not expecting undue burdens due to excessive rehearsals)?

ZIM ZUM : it seems like shows could have and should have happened a while ago but it would have meant disaster as someone would have caved in. I\'m glad that things have gone the way they have and I would change a thing or 2 but it doesnt matter now. I\'m focused on getting this all to a point that is near.

phoenix5807 : it sounds like you get stuck being a manager instead of a musician

ZIM ZUM : sometimes I do phoenix. I just want to play. I hate the politics and I just want to play.

phoenix5807 : what is the group dynamic like? do you spend time out with one another, or at each other\'s homes, or do you just get together to record at this point?

ZIM ZUM : I prefer a close little army because if everyone isnt on the same page then it gets very tricky very quickly. We hang out to vent but are always around the music. I tend to put some space in between now and then because I go on recording marathons but they know and understand thats what I do and who I am.

ZIM ZUM : I record 2 different things simultaneously one is just for me and just for the fun/challenge of it and the other is Pleistoscene..they come very close.

phoenix5807 : so you are indeed seperating ZZ songs from P songs once again?

ZIM ZUM : Yes and no. the ones that are just me are the ones that freak me out. the ones that are just pleistoscene are the ones that freak everyone out.

LIKWID : zim, do you sing when you are alone at home?? lol

ZIM ZUM : on the pleistoscene stuff. I usually dont walk around singing...

phoenix5807 : the non-P songs are all about your creative outlet for places you want/need to explore without concern for any other listening audience, right?

ZIM ZUM : exactly. Pleistoscene is alot like that too but it allows me to explore \'hooks\' in a different way and to fuck with the way people listen to music as in whats catchy about a song.

phoenix5807 : in theory, there could be a P song that is performed exclusively by you. It\'s just about the motivations behind it and its intended audience

ZIM ZUM : yes. I write Pleistoscene songs to be catchy in a way thats catchy to me and what i think people should warp the populous catchy into. a hook to me doesnt need to be repeated 3 times to be understood. I think others will get what im going for. that was the intention. to make something weird into something infectous. change what people think is cool. Pleistoscene the way it is today is something I didnt see happening until much further down the line, say a year from now after there had been some touring. But of course I\'m happy to jump ahead and see what happens right now. Pleistoscene isnt about just one instrument or just one person. Its all about the experience as a whole. It\'s bigger and much more independent. I am singing in Pleistoscene which I never planned on doing as far as lead vocals, for entire songs.

phoenix5807 : so are you saying this other batch might someday see the light of day in some form?

ZIM ZUM : it all should. It all will.

phoenix5807 : so people are able to break out of roles when they can share the vision

ZIM ZUM : yes.

phoenix5807 : so you\'ve finally gotten that cohesiveness?

ZIM ZUM : The cohesiveness was inside me all along. i just needed to move forward without any borders. Finding people whounderstood the individual vision didnt exclude them from anything. There are roles to be played that are greater than the individual.

ultra0fag7 : ive always wanted to see a band project pornography on trhe kick drum head.. i may do that with my band

ZIM ZUM : lol-porn is good and im surprised no drummer has thought of that...OR maybe they have but they project it on the back of the singer...!
I\'m into things that are very tribal and unsettling to most because of the large groups of people factor.

phoenix5807 : for example....?

ZIM ZUM : 1 person can do something crazy but 1000 people can make the news in every state. :) If there is a message behind it then it was done the right way.
but will the media ignore the message and make it out to be a riot act? probably. but I wont stop. having said that. I must bid you all farewell for this evenning.

LIKWID : zim, do you impose a schedule to yourself to work on pleistoscene things and music???

ZIM ZUM : yes I do. every hour im not sleeping. bye everyone. we will do this again soon.
